Clinical Interests

My specialty is in pediatric neurosurgery where I have a special interest on treating patients with medically refractory epilepsy using a variety of neurosurgical techniques that aim to cure their seizures or to reduce their seizure burden when a cure is not feasible. I also treat a wide range of pediatric brain tumors, Chiari malformation, cerebrovascular malformations such as arteriovenous malformation (AVM) and cavernomas, and the full gamut of hydrocephalus and congenital neurologic disorders.

Research Interests:

My research focuses on how functional networks in the brain develop and reorganize in response to injury or intervention. I study these networks with a combination of functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) and intracranial electrophysiology such as SEEG and ECoG. I incorporate paradigms where patients participate alongside their routine clinical care to avoid any burden and occasionally help them pass the time while in the hospital for their standard care
